  5. v8.0 Release

We’ve been hard at work building a faster, more flexible, and more connected experience across the platform—and Version 8 is one of our biggest releases yet.

This release is about much more than surface-level improvements. Version 8 gives leaders more control over how performance systems are structured, adds powerful automation to Objectives, improves the day-to-day user experience across desktop and mobile, and brings SecureDB closer to the tools your team already uses.

Here’s what’s new.

More Control Over Company value, Alignment, and Coaching

One of the biggest improvements in Version 8 is the ability to control the order of the items that matter most to your organization.

You can now customize the order of:

  • Company value
  • Alignment / Engagement items
  • Role Behaviors
  • Role Skill

Previously, many of these items were automatically sorted—often alphabetically. Now, you can arrange them in the exact sequence that matches how your organization actually thinks, leads, and evaluates performance.

That updated order now carries through into the areas where it matters most, including

  • businessplanner
  • [review plural = “y”]
  • Coaching widgets on dashboards
  • Individual performance views

This gives leaders more consistency, better alignment, and more confidence that the platform reflects their real priorities—not just a default sort order.

Formula Builder for Objectives

This is a major leap forward for advanced performance management. With Version 8, you can now build Objectives that automatically calculate their values based on other Objectives using formulas.

That means you can now:

  • Roll multiple department-level Objectives into a company-level Objective
  • Use operators like +, -, x, /, and parentheses
  • Automatically update values when dependent Objectives change
  • Allow a manual override when needed

In practical terms, this unlocks a much smarter way to manage metrics across the organization. You can now create:

  • True roll-up scorecards
  • Automated company-level metrics
  • More advanced KPI logic
  • Smarter SMART Objectives that reduce manual reporting

Instead of updating summary numbers by hand, leaders can let the platform do the work—while still keeping control when exceptions are needed.

SecureDB inside Microsoft Teams

Version 8 also brings SecureDB closer to where many teams already work every day: Microsoft Teams.

You can now access SecureDB inside Microsoft Teams with a more seamless in-app experience, making it easier to stay connected without constantly switching tools.

What this means for your team:

  • Easier access to SecureDB from within Teams
  • A more seamless sign-in experience through Teams-enabled authentication
  • Better continuity when moving between communication and execution
  • Less friction for users who spend most of their day inside Microsoft Teams

We also continued expanding Teams-related functionality behind the scenes, including connected notification support, so Teams can play a more active role in keeping people informed and aligned.

For organizations that rely heavily on Microsoft 365, this is an important step toward making SecureDB feel like part of the workflow—not a separate destination.

A Better Task Experience on Mobile

Managing Tasks on the go is now easier. Version 8 includes improvements to the Task experience on smaller screens so mobile users can work with less friction and more clarity.

These updates help by:

  • Improving responsiveness on smaller devices
  • Making key Task interactions easier to use
  • Cleaning up spacing and layout behavior for mobile screens
  • Creating a smoother experience for leaders and team members working away from their desks

Whether someone is reviewing priorities between meetings, updating progress in the field, or checking what’s due next, the mobile Task experience is now more practical and more polished.

A More Fluid “Giant Drawer” Experience

We also upgraded the in-app drawer experience to make navigation feel much smoother across the platform.

Instead of forcing users into new tabs for every deeper action, Version 8 introduces a more flexible drawer interface that allows content to open inside the platform itself.

Users will now notice:

  • Large side panels with size options like 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90%
  • Smoother transitions when opening supporting content
  • Fewer disruptive new tabs
  • An Open full page option when a full-page view is preferred

This creates a much more modern workflow for reviewing information, editing details, and moving deeper into the platform without constantly breaking context.

It’s a simple change on the surface, but it adds up to a much more fluid experience.

More Workflow Automation Across the Platform

Version 8 is also about helping teams follow through more consistently. In addition to performance and UI improvements, we expanded automation in areas like forms and notifications, including support for:

  • Scheduled forms
  • Reminder flows
  • Anonymous submissions
  • Expanded notification delivery options

These enhancements help organizations reduce manual follow-up, improve participation, and create more dependable systems for gathering information and keeping people accountable.

More Polish, Stability, and Platform Readiness

Beyond the headline features, Version 8 includes a broad layer of supporting improvements that make the platform more mature and more scalable.

That includes continued work on:

  • Deployment and release reliability
  • Backup and production-readiness improvements
  • Notification infrastructure
  • Teams connectivity
  • UI consistency across brands and environments
  • Additional bundled fixes and polish in the latest production releases

In other words, Version 8 is not just a feature release—it is a platform maturity release.

Why This Matters

Version 8 is about helping organizations operate with more clarity and less friction.

You can now structure company value, alignment tools, and coaching items in the order that actually reflects your business. You can automate roll-up Objectives instead of updating them manually. You can work more naturally inside Microsoft Teams. You can manage Tasks more easily on mobile. And you can move through the platform with a smoother, more modern in-app experience.

Together, these updates make SecureDB more flexible, more intuitive, and more connected to the way real teams work.

Version 8 gives leaders better control, better visibility, and better momentum—so they can spend less time fighting systems and more time driving results.
