The 3-Step Process Documenter helps organizations document and simplify their core processes. It helps leadership teams create clarity and consistency in how essential tasks are performed across the organization. The process is broken down into three steps:

  • Step 1: Identify: The leadership team identifies a handful of core processes essential to the business. These processes define how the company operates and delivers value. The team then agrees on their names and creates a list that serves as the table of contents for the company’s process documentation.
  • Step 2: Document and Simplify: Each core process is observed, outlined, and simplified. The goal is to document only the 20% of steps that drive 80% of the results. This documentation should be clear, concise, and easy to follow, typically fitting within 1-5 pages. Each process is then reviewed and approved by the leadership team to ensure it reflects the best way to execute the process consistently.
  • Step 3: Package: Once all core processes are documented and simplified, they are packaged into a format that is easy to access and use. This could be a manual, an online document, or another format that suits the organization. The goal is to ensure that everyone in the organization can easily find and follow these processes.
