Depending on the frequency your organization conducts employee reviews, SecureDB has a “period” selection next to the employee’s name. After you’ve selected which employee you are going to review, you need to choose which period this review is for. There are almost always just two options: the current period you’re in and the previous period. Typically, you’ll want to select the previous period. If you select the current period, you’ll see a warning making sure that’s really what you want to do.
Why Warn Me?
Let’s say you do your employee reviews quarterly and it is close to the end of Q2 right now. When giving your direct reports’ review, you need to ask yourself if you intend to review them in Q2 (which isn’t technically over yet) or Q1 (albeit quite a bit late).
It’s a common confusion, hence the warning.
