The Meeting Pulse® refers to the regular cadence of meetings that help maintains the rhythm of communication, alignment, and accountability within an organization. The Meeting Pulse consists of two key elements:
- Quarterly Meetings: These are more strategic in nature and occur every 90 days. The leadership team steps back from the day-to-day operations to assess the company’s progress toward its goals, set new quarterly Rocks (priorities), and ensure that the organization is on track for the year. This is also the time to resolve any significant issues hindering progress.
- Weekly Level 10 Meetings: These are highly structured, 90-minute meetings that occur every week. The agenda includes reviewing the Scorecard, Rocks, and any critical issues that need to be addressed. The purpose of these meetings is to keep everyone on the same page, solve problems, and ensure that the organization is consistently moving forward.
The concept of the Meeting Pulse is compared to a heartbeat, where the regularity of these meetings creates a rhythm that keeps the organization healthy, focused, and aligned. The weekly meetings help prevent procrastination and ensure that tasks and issues are addressed promptly, while the quarterly meetings provide a broader perspective and allow for strategic adjustments.
