In SecureDB v6.5, we introduced a powerful new feature: Project Templates and Recurring Projects. This feature allows admins to create a series of Tasks grouped into a Project, which can then be set to recur at a specified interval. This is particularly useful for organizations with specific, recurring workflows, ensuring the process for completion are done consistently and efficiently.
In order to create a recurring Project, we’ll need to create a Project Template first.
Creating a Project Template
- Go to your Projects List
- Click Create Template
- Complete the basic Project information
Set the Template to Recur
- Before you save your new Project template, you’ll need to click the Recurring toggle at the top-right
- Once clicked, you’ll see the three options for Frequency, Starts On and Ends By.
- When you’re all done, click the green Create Template button at the bottom.
Select the Frequency you would like the Project to recur on and the start and end of that recurrence. For example, I might have a 30-day process that begins every month on the 5th. I know we’ll be doing it this way at least for the next year or so. Here’s what I would set those three options to:
- Frequency: Monthly
- Starts On: The 5th of the next month from today
- Ends By: The 5th of the next month, a year in the future from today
Benefits of Using Recurring Project Templates
- Consistency: Ensure that critical workflows are followed accurately every time.
- Efficiency: Save time by automating the creation of recurring Projects and Tasks.
- Accountability: Track and manage recurring Tasks more effectively with automated scheduling and assignments.
