In some organizations, employees are allowed to update the current Core Values for their own Metrics. In others, they are not. In Company Setup, you have the global option to enable or disable this privilege.
Keep in mind, if you select YES from the Company Settings, this does not automatically allow everyone in the organization to update their own Metrics. They would still need the permission enabled in their Seat.
