Connecting Microsoft Teams for Notifications

You can send key notifications from Upstream+ directly into Microsoft Teams, so you never miss important updates from meetings, feedback, or coaching reminders. This integration takes just a few minutes to set up.

Step 1: Connect Your Microsoft Teams Account

  1. Go to: Edit My Profile >> Notifications
  2. Locate the Microsoft Teams connection banner
  3. Click: Connect Microsoft Teams
  4. Sign in with your Microsoft account
  5. Approve access when prompted

Once completed, you’ll return to Upstream+ and see a confirmation message.

Step 2: Install the Performance Scoring Bot

After connecting your account, you must also install the Teams Bot so notifications can be delivered.

  1. Click: Install Bot App
  2. Microsoft Teams will open and prompt you to install the bot
  3. After installing, open the bot chat and send the message: Hi

This activates the bot connection so Upstream+ can begin sending notifications.

Step 3: Enable Teams Notifications

Once connected, you can choose which alerts you want delivered through Teams, such as:

  • Digest emails and reminders
  • Realtime feedback notifications
  • Coaching and review alerts

These settings can be adjusted anytime under: My Profile >> Notifications

Disconnecting Microsoft Teams

To stop Teams notifications:

  1. Return to My Profile → Notifications
  2. Click: Disconnect Microsoft Teams

This will remove the Teams connection from your account.

Troubleshooting

I connected my account but still see “Bot App not installed”

You still need to install the bot and send “Hi” to complete setup.

I’m not receiving notifications

Make sure:

  • Teams is connected
  • The bot is installed
  • You’ve enabled notification toggles in your settings
