The goal of the meeting is to ensure that critical priorities are being addressed, issues are being solved, and the organization is making progress toward its vision. The name “Level 10” comes from the idea that participants should rate the meeting a 10 out of 10 for effectiveness by the end.

What does this look like in practice? A Level 10 Meeting has the following attributes:

Consistency: The meeting happens at the same time, on the same day, with the same agenda, every week. This consistency helps establish a rhythm and ensures everyone knows what to expect.

Structured Agenda: The agenda is specifically designed to ensure time is spent on the most important things.

Focus on Solving Issues: The heart of the Level 10 Meeting is the IDS® process (Identify, Discuss, Solve). Teams use this structured method to identify the most important issues, discuss them openly, and solve them with actionable solutions.

Accountability and Execution: Level 10 Meetings drive accountability by ensuring that Rocks and To-Dos are completed on time. Regularly reviewing progress helps keep team members focused on their commitments.

Rating the Meeting: At the end of each meeting, participants rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. This feedback encourages continuous improvement in meeting effectiveness and keeps everyone focused on making the meeting as productive as possible.

Up next: The Meeting Pulse

A Level 10 Meeting® is a structured, weekly 90-minute meeting to keep teams aligned, focused, and accountable.
