This release includes fixes for 9 usability issues as well as 21 new enhancements. Here are some highlights.

Embed Reviews in Meetings – In meeting setup, there is a new embedded module option for “Reviews.” Add this to your meeting agenda and you can now customize how you conduct your reviews by embedding the reviews form right in your meeting.

Project Manager View Upgraded – The “Manager View” for projects got an upgrade this week. You can now view tasks as pills or in a searchable/sortable table. There are date filters and status filters too. Just select the project from the dropdown at the top to load all tasks associated with it (yours and your teammates’).

Actual/Percent Toggle Added to Performance Tab of Reviews – Added by popular demand, you can toggle between actual value vs percent of goal on the trend chart in Reviews on the Performance tab.

Default Notification Settings for New Users – When creating a new user, default notification settings make setup that much easier.

NEW: Sticky Notes – On meeting preview and after the meeting has started, you’ll see a new button on the Segue portion for “Add Sticky Note.” Clicking that will show a sticky note you can type-in. To remove/clear the note, just click the [-] icon in the top right corner. Handy if the meeting organizer needed a reminder or wanted to make a quick announcement to meeting attendees. Details on the KB.

NEW: Invite Guests to Meetings – From meeting preview, you now have an option to invite a guest user to your meeting. Click the button, enter your guest’s email address and a friendly message. Your guest can now access your meeting (and see everything in that meeting you can) WITHOUT having to login or setup a profile. This will prove to be a way to “soft-demo” Etho meetings and, we hope, be the first step towards ubiquity. Details on the KB.

That’s the really big stuff. Version 5.5.3 also includes a notification “rate limiter” so you don’t get TOO many email or text notifications. We also added time spent in each agenda item to the meeting log and fixed some typos in emails and standardized date/time formatting with a new timezone selection in user profile (default timezone is set in Company Setup).

Up Next?

The SecureDB version 5 suite has focused almost exclusively on enhancements to our application. The upcoming version 6 will be all about speed! The big version jump is to denote just how much re-writing will be required to significantly increase the speed of the application.

We’re looking into all sorts of weird and wonderful performance optimization techniques, but the largest improvements will come from real performance data gathered when we integrated DataDog way back in the first release of version 5.0.

Building on feedback we’ve received since v5.5 of was released earlier this month, version 5.5.3 was deployed to Production late last night.
