{"id":13756,"date":"2022-07-05T13:45:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-05T18:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/manage4.performancescoring.net\/kb\/?p=13756"},"modified":"2024-01-05T15:18:30","modified_gmt":"2024-01-05T20:18:30","slug":"project-status-feelings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/?p=13756","title":{"rendered":"Project Status &#8220;Feelings&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SecureDB already has an <a href=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/?p=13540\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"13540\">on\/off-track status<\/a> for projects that is mathematical, however many organizations have reported users don\u2019t \u201cfeel\u201d the same about the project as the math says. This is in large part because tasks aren\u2019t always spread evenly throughout the project timeframe, because let\u2019s face it, not everyone is a trained Project Manager.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To remedy this difference, we have developed a way to manually report how \u2018confident\u2019 users feel about the project\u2019s status. This status can then be reported within <a href=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/?p=16106\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"16106\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">meetings<\/a> to keep all parties up to date on how the project owner \u2018feels\u2019 about the progress, based on information that is not always tracked within the mathematical project timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the example below we can see Michaels Scott\u2019s <strong>Project Management Meeting<\/strong> has three Projects in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Warehouse Re-Organization<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rewrite Warehouse Policies and Procedures<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New Location Primed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/PM-Meeting-3-projects-1024x540.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14025\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the <a href=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/?p=16106\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"16106\">meeting<\/a> the intention is to review Projects by clicking on them to see their current status, based on the overall timeline and the tasks that have been added to the project and their overall timeline of completion.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we click on the <strong>Warehouse Re-Organization <\/strong>project the <strong>Project Status<\/strong> screen. We can see that the mathematical project status shows the project as being 63% Complete and running <strong>Off-Track<\/strong>&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/PM-Meeting-feeling-1024x442.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14024\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Michael may disagree with the <a href=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/?p=13540\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"13540\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">math<\/a> of the project and let the team know how he \u201cfeels\u201d about the true status of the overall project by clicking the\u00a0 \u201cProgress\u201d dropdown in the top right of the Project Status display.\u00a0\u00a0 The dropdown offers 3 \u201cFeelings\u2019 to choose from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Proceeding as Planned<\/strong>&nbsp; &#8212; This is a &nbsp;confident \u201cfeel\u201d the project is moving along and will be complete on time.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Making Progress<\/strong> &#8211;&nbsp; &nbsp;This is a neutral \u201cfeel\u201d.&nbsp; Michael is comfortable it is making progress but not certain whether it will complete as scheduled or fall-behind.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Falling Behind<\/strong> \u2013 This is a clear lack of confidence the project will be complete on time. \u2013 no matter what the current mathematical status is saying.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"14022\" src=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Project-Feelings-1024x697.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14022\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>In this image we can see Michael has updated his feel, for each of his three <a href=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/?p=12733\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"12733\">projects<\/a> for this meeting. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/PM-Meeting-Final-1024x480.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14026\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Below is a closeup view of&nbsp;the, <strong>Rewrite Warehouse Policies and Procedures<\/strong>, project.<br><br>The math says the project i<strong>s <a href=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/?p=13540\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"13540\">On-Track<\/a><\/strong> and 25% complete. Michael has indicated he \u201cfeels\u201d the project is \u201c<strong>Falling Behind<\/strong>\u201d. He may know that some of his Team are out unexpectedly or have been re-allocated to other projects, and this information is not reflected in the project itself just yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/PM-Meeting-ReWrite.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14029\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now let\u2019s look at the, <strong>New Location Primed<\/strong>, project.<br><br>The math shows this project is Off-Track and 50% complete.&nbsp; Michael \u2018feels\u2019 this project is still proceeding as planned and will meet the current project deadline although the math shows the project off track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/securedb.io\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/PM-Meeting-New-Location-Primed.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14028\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>already has an on\/off-track status for projects that is mathematical, however many organizations have reported users don\u2019t \u201cfeel\u201d the same about the project as the math says.
